The 24-year-old unemployed man with a history of trouble with the law was seen walking with another man and reportedly looking through homes at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Walker Drive in Carson City.
Authorities made contact with the two men, both described as wearing flannel shirts with having black beanies on their heads, at the intersection of Truckee and Steamboat streets. The 24-year-old suspect and his partner were asked by a police officer for IDs. The suspect refused, stating he didn't do anything wrong. The second man provided a photocopy of a Nevada identification card, according to the arrest report.
When both men were asked to sit, the 24-year-old suspect took off running. Officers chased the man, who dropped a CO2 gun and then was seen chucking credit cards underneath a truck parked on the street, the report stated.

The man then changed directions and went through a residential yard and climbed a fence in the 1600 block of Salmon, where Capt. Wall advised he had the man at gunpoint. He was taken into custody.
A search of the man turned up a Nevada driver's license and an identification card that didn't belong to him. Also recovered was a cell phone at the residence where the suspect had jumped the fence, the report stated.
The man faces charges of possession of stolen property, obstructing/delaying arrest, trespassing and destruction of property. Bail was set at $1,633.
