It was a cold one to say the least at Ron McNutt field in Carson City Tuesday, but that didn't slow down the Carson Senators as they rolled over the Lancers. After a scoreless top of the first inning, Carson needed no time warming up in the cold weather picking up three runs early in the bottom of the first with a couple of singles, a sacrifice fly and a booming double by Jace Zampirro.
The second inning was quiet, with good defense on both sides and solid pitching the score remained 3-0. Then in the top of three things would pick back up again. With a sac fly to right by Tomas Cameron which scored John Weethee, the Lancers were on the board. The Senators wouldn't allow the score to get any closer than that and banged in another two runs in the third, including an RBI triple by Jace Zampirro and an RBI single by Brandon Allen leaving the score 6-1.
The Senators offense wouldn't seize to halt there. Chase Blueberg would be assured that his bat would be heard with a roaring, three RBI home run to deep left field to finish off the forth inning with a bang and leave the score 9-1 at the start of the fifth inning.
Another quiet inning would partake in the fifth with more shut down defenses from both squads. Then, to lead off the bottom of the sixth the Senators didn't hesitate to take a single by right fielder Dominic Norton. Finally, Gehrig Tucker would also be assured his bat would receive some publicity with a shot to deep left, putting the exclamation point on his team's offensive showcase today. Senators take this one in walk off fashion with a final score of Carson 11, McQueen 1.
