A Carson City woman led deputies on a car chase Saturday evening before being apprehended for possession of methamphetamine.
According the arrest report, a deputy spotted Kathleen Marie Eger, 44, in the left turn lane on North Roop Street and Hot Springs Road. He had recently been informed that Eger had a warrant for her arrest. When he tried to stop the vehicle, she allegedly sped up and ran several stop signs, reaching approximately 60 mph on neighborhood streets. She finally stopped and exited the vehicle with a purse in her hand in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive near an apartment building, and tried to run away on foot when she was apprehended.
While deputies were putting her in a patrol car for transport, a witness said another person, Kelly Maureen Ryan, 45, who lives in one of the nearby apartments, allegedly took the purse Eger was carrying. A deputy chased after Ryan and found her allegedly putting the purse in a bush. She told the deputy that she took the purse because Eger owed her money. Inside the purse was a small bag with what appeared to be methamphetamine, along with a pipe and a razor blade.
Eger was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a revoked license, failure to stop for peace officer, reckless driving, and a warrant for contempt of court. Her bail was set at $9.048.
Ryan was arrested for attempting to conceal evidence, a gross misdemeanor, plus obstructing/delaying an officer and petit larceny, both misdemeanors. Her bail was set at $3,264.
